Pokémon's latest ninth-generation title is expected to arrive in late 2022 for Nintendo Switch.
27th February 2022 marks the 26th anniversary of a widely-popular Japanese game called Pocket Monster, better known to everyone as Pokémon. To mark the occasion, The Pokémon Company hosted an online broadcast to showcase their fun-filled journey since the inception of Red and Blue (aka Red and Green) in 1996.
While the whole broadcast mainly focus on updates for their existing games, The Pokémon Company had thrown in a sneaky surprise that caught fans by a huge surprise.
Enter Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet, a brand new title that serves as the ninth generation follow up to the 2019 Sword and Shield. With Game Freak serving as the developer, the first impression shows the same open-world environment first seen in the 2021 Legends: Arceus. While Game Freak is still yet to disclose the region name, some pointers are looking at Spain as the inspiration for the new region.

As well as a new unknown region, there is also a new starter trio. You have the option of a Grass-type feline, a Fire-type crocodile, and a Water-type duckling. At the moment, little is known about them other than Sprigatito's Ability to Overgrow, Fuecoco's Ability to Blaze, and Quaxly's Ability to Torrent. The trainers also have little detail other than a different outfit depending on the chosen title.
